let me say a little something from the heart.



I’m Ashley Connell, CEO of Prowess Project, an online platform that helps caregivers and career-pivoters upskill, network and get access to family-friendly jobs. In just three years, our team has helped 1000s (!!!) of women secure work - in ways that worked for them and their families.

I wasn’t always a CEO, but I’ve always been a dreamer. For 15 years, I did the Corporate thing, pouring my blood, sweat and tears into my jobs - moving half-way across the world for my employers. And was happy to do so. YET, I was making decisions about my life and work based on this background anxiety of how I was going to have kids and continue this career that I loved.

Harvard Business Review reports that when a woman is out of the workforce for 3 years raising children, she loses 37% of her compensation power forever, and this happens to 43% of women. And yet, 97% of them would return IF they had access to flexible jobs. After reading that, I became obsessed with solving this problem - spending every waking moment researching, asking, interviewing, trying to find solutions. Each time I was coming up empty-handed.

No one had cracked it. So was that person going to be ME? But who was I to solve that problem? Was I qualified? Ready? Able? I’m sure you can all relate to that… then the dreamer took hold and I thought, Why not me? Why not this big, hairy problem? Why not change the world so that women don’t have to choose between a career (dead-end or non-stop) and a family.

Fast-forward to now. I’ve built a business, Community and mission that rallies around women so they can have professional, personal and financial freedom. All while bringing a baby girl into the world.

I’m living my dream. Tackling the hairy problem. Raising my baby girl. Lifting up women everywhere. Pinch me.
